Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Ginak — 06 Dec 2016
A wonderfully well-acted film, but it may not be for everyone. It’s a realistic “slice of life” about ordinary people. It is more like last year’s Spotlight or Brooklyn and less like movies that I prefer that are about something extraordinary – last year’s 45 Years, Carol, or this year’s Nocturnal Animals.
It also is a long film although I was never bored and didn’t fall asleep. I hope this review helps because if you go to a film for excitement or to see something extraordinary, this film may be too “low key” for you although you may not regret seeing it.
