Review of Manchester by the Sea (2016) by Uwe M — 02 Apr 2017
A movie I suspect will stay with me for a few days at least. One would argue that it's slow, but I appreciated the pace which is a true escape from most of our lives. But the greatest aspect of this movie besides the stellar performances was the untainted, non glorified script and the quirky scenes that amounted to not much, but complete realism.
Walking in the wrong direction to the car, the ambulance trolley that wouldn't function properly, the phone that cuts out... all these during tragic circumstances is exactly what happens to us all.
A really honest movie that all can relate to that showcases the beauty of American suburbia.
