Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by David C — 02 Jun 2007
One of the finest documentaries of all time. Vertov's camera moves around the Russian city with suprising ease, presenting dynamic imagery and striking incidents. The editing is like an MTV music video, some sixty years ahead of its time.
Vertov achieves more with his limited resources and great imagination than many better equipped filmmakers do today.
