Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Kevin S — 20 May 2008
A wild experiment of a motion picture. It starts off at first feeling like a simple pseudo-documentary on life in Russia. But through the lens and mind of a frantic filmmaker, the film transforms into an array of wild effects, montages, and music.
It's early Soviet filmmaking on speed. The ending leaves one breathless.
