Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Abigail K — 20 May 2008
I was absolutely enthralled. The amount of effects created solely by mechanical editing were astounding. Plus the music and sound effects were amazing. Verto actually wrote notes because he knew that synchronization of sound would be reached in the not so distant future.
It reminded me a bit of "Berlin: Symphony of a city," but I found this much more interesting from a musical and editing standpoint.
