Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Annie C — 22 Mar 2010
Definitely an inspiration for ALL filmmakers. On one hand it's an exciting documentation of modern life, of different classes, human interactions, and society's development as a whole. On the other hand, it showcase Vertov's innovative techniques with editing and filming, solely using movie camera without other props or influences.
I haven't seen it with other soundtrack, but Cinematic Orchestra's soundtrack in 2003 fits well.
