Review of Man with a Movie Camera (1929) by Lizzy B — 04 May 2009
As an experiment it was the birth of avant garde, yet it really is more innocent than that. I particularly like that it captures life in the late 1920s in cities around Russia and from that perspective it really is incredibly important even though I don't think Vertov gave a moments' thought to how he was documenting what others weren't.
