Review of Man on a Ledge (2012) by Joe J — 07 Sep 2012
Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) is a former cop who's spent the last two years in prison. Getting out to attend his father's funeral, he escapes custody. Days later he is found on the ledge of a New York hotel, threatening to jump.
Disgraced negotiator Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks) is called upon - by Nick himself - to talk him down. But all isn't as it seems, and as the movie unravels, more twists and turns are revealed that show that this man on a ledge is the least of their worries.
I really enjoyed this film, except for the fact that the preview gives way too much away. If it was shorter and just focused on Worthington's character, I would've been pleasantly surprised by everything else that happened in the film. But as it were, the preview gave away a lot of plot points and I was left disappointed because I could easily predict everything that would happen. So if you haven't seen the trailer for this film, don't! Just see the film.
