Review of Man on a Ledge (2012) by Oxana — 23 Aug 2014
Strong 3 1/2 stars.
I can admit I mostly went to see this movie because of Sam Worthington, who plays an ex-cop framed for stealing a diamond (which according to him never left its owners hands).
The story progresses nicely, and manages to branch out quite far from the ledge where Nick Cassidy (Worthington) stands, planning on jumping to his death rather than going back to jail - only he isn't really planning on doing either, if given the chance.
The supporting cast worked nicely, diverting and re-directing the plot in ways that made it a bit harder to predict.
Worth the watch, definitely, even though the trailer/summary already exposes the core of the story, and the movie isn't the most unpredictable one. Yet you cannot see the end coming from mile away, which is a big plus and keeps you on the edge of your seat, wondering if justice will be served, or shall the crooks actually take home the victory.
