Review of Man of the Year (1995) by Daniel N — 23 Aug 2008
They really should have stuck to more of a comedic focus instead of trying to meld it with a political thriller genre. They tried to condense too much into the film, and I wanted more of some details and far less of others.
Williams would have been much better if he was given more freedom to pursue a comic role. That being said, Williams CAN do serious roles (why does everyone not think so - he won an Oscar, and 'Night Listener' and 'Insomnia' were pretty good too).
I enjoyed this, but he's done better.
