Review of Man of the Year (1995) by Josh P — 24 Jan 2011
I think that the movie had a fantastic concept and infinite promise... but was a victim of bad marketing. Not a lack of exposure, but a case of misdirection. I expected this movie to be a funny popcorn flick, a view into a United States where Robin Williams is our President.
What I got was a comedy that flirted with themes one would find in a political thriller... and the end result simply confused me. Williams is fantastic, as are Walken, Lewis Black, Laura Linney -- Goldblum and Tina Fey, as well, in their respective cameos.
I wish I wouldn't have been expecting a different movie when I started watching.
