Review of Man of the House (1995) by Ty Q — 20 Jul 2012
I have at least a half hour left in this movie, but it's so bad, I couldn't wait to start writing this. What the hell am I watching? Part action, part sexy, part slapstick, part drama, all failing miserably! It starts with some fast-paced action as Lt.
Sharp, played by Tommy Lee Jones, does his job as a typical movie badass, bringing down some criminals. Then we get to see Jones pull a phone out of a cow's ass. Wait, is this movie supposed to be serious or funny? Well I know it was advertised as a comedy, but they try so hard it's terrible.
Why the relationship issue with his daughter? Am I supposed to find it cute that these cheerleaders on witness protection are helping Jones's uptight character with his relationship issues? Did Jones even read the script? Did he sign up for this when he was drunk? Take your daughter to see this if you want a strained relationship, just like Jones's character.
