Review of Man of Steel (2013) by Edwin M — 21 Feb 2016
Superman has always been portrayed as "perfect", a boy scout, a good boy which in my opinion has left out a lot of potential for character development. It wasn't until little over a decade or so that we were still seeing a benevolent and 100% good boy superman in tv (Lois and Clark: The new adventures of superman, Smallville), now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed those TV shows as a kid, but I couldn't bare in my mind that somebody could be so "perfect", so good, so nice.
But then Man of Steel came out and Snyder's version was what made me like this superman, a guy that has to struggle with his powers, the urge and feeling of wanting to hurt somebody but knowing that he can't, that he shouldn't (Clark talking Jonathan Kent about the bullies at school), so I believe this movie captures a more down to earth superman, I hero that understands that there's no white and black in the world, but several shades of gray and sometimes we must do whatever it takes to accomplish our goles.
