Not What I Expected.

I am a huge fan of the Christopher Reeve Superman films - especially the first two. When Brandon Routh essentially played the same role in 2006's underrated Superman Returns, I was thrilled that the same mythology as the Reeve-era films were still intact for what I thought were to be the next generation of Superman films. In fact, one of my favorite television programs of all time was the recently concluded ten-season epic, Smallville, which deepened the Reeve-era mythology to the extent that so many new and exciting stories were all queued up and ready to unfold on the big screen. In a word, the future was definitely bright. But this new Superman story took all of that promise and potential and turned the Superman character into something completely unrecognizable. So disappointed. I understand that Zack Snyder is a visual filmmaker and is trying to keep audiences entertained. But turning the Man of Steel into a warrior from 300 in my estimation was completely unnecessary.
