Review of Man Bites Dog (1992) by Jonathan A — 22 May 2008
Nasty, 16mm Belgian powerhouse about a camera crew following around a serial killer through his crimes and everyday life, eventually getting involved themselves. A precursor to the techniques used in "Blair Witch" which made that film's ending so chilling through the use of realism.
The violence is brutal and disturbing, all because of the subject's casual demeanor and dark sense of humor. Watching him function regularly as a human being with his friends and family merely amplifies his madness.
Not for the faint of heart.
