Review of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) by Charlie W — 20 Jul 2018
Was so disappointed I cried. Waited 10 years for the sequel of the film I watched everyday since I was 3-7 but it was terrible. The film felt so so staged with so much choreography, unlike the first one filled with so much fun and spontaneity.
They had all the facts wrong about Donna's past, and the fact that she was dead was so stupid. Sophie was like a whiny soccer mum and of course everyone's relationships from the last film all had to be ruined so that they could resolve at the end.
Donna came back as a weird ghost/memory thing- just dumb. Crap storyline, all that happened was a storm. And to top it all off, they made such a big deal about Cher that the rest of the film barely mattered.
Also they made Cher have a romance with some random man and sung Fernando to him because he was conveniently called Fernando. Overall I would never recommend this film I was so disappointed :( Only good in it was Lily James.
