Review of Mambo Italiano (2003) by Ryan O — 10 Aug 2006
Let's face it: gay films, as a genre, usually suck. (Truly, no pun intended.) This one, according to critics and other viewers, was slated to be no different but I didn't entirely hate it... The only thing keeping it not rotten for me was that I genuinely cared about the main character Angelo, and was devastated by the end of the film. Because it legitimately affected me, the film can only be as bad as my own scmaltz-o-meter, which apparently is higher than I thought.
Oh, and why did Paul Sorvino do this film?
