Mama is a supernatural horror/mystery film that delves more so into our tender emotional side . Something that horrors never do. The character "mama" is different on its objective than most other ghost flicks(just kill characters for no apparent reason) And can be misunderstood by viewers.
Is it a greedy sinister guardian refusing to share custody or a wrongly treated person turned spirit looking to find eternal child love it could not have during life? It resembles both throughout the story.
The ending is unexpected and shocking. I understood the purpose though. Creative and different. Its worth watching.
