Mallrats is by no stretch a great movie, but I wouldn't say that it was trying to be. It's a movie for comic book fans and people who linger around malls and have horrible concepts of love and relationships.
It has a lot of great conversations that you would never think you'd get to hear on screen, such as: "Can Mr. Fantastic stretch every part of his body? I mean, every part?".
