If there is one thing that I can definitively say about this film, it is that it's unique. The aesthetics, cinematography, choreography, and creature design are all exceptional and are very enjoyable. However, the plot is wanting.

At times it is hard to tell what type of story Malignant wants to tell. Does it want to be cheesy or dramatic? Who is to say. That, combined with some plot issues, brings down the film as a whole. That being said, despite my lower score, I definitely recommend watching the movie if you have an HBO Max subscription or when its cheap to rent.

One action scene in particular was absolutely insane to watch and really shows that this film does have some bits of gold in it.
