Review of Malena (2000) by Timothy R — 15 Feb 2009
European cinema at it's best. Malena is a beautiful film starring Monica Bellucci as the title character, a woman who is scorned upon because of her beauty. You feel pity for her as she is shunned and then forced to survive through desperation.
The cinematography is second to none, as are all well made European films. The acting is superb and the film is riddled with subtle humour that only European films can do so well.
