I didn't think I was going to like this movie but it turned out to be surprisingly good. This movie takes place in Italy during the second world war. A young boy becomes obsessed with a beautiful woman who's husband is away at war.
The whole story is told through the eyes of the boy who stalks her. The town judges her unfairly because she's very attractive. All the women believe she is sleeping with other men behind her husband's back but in truth she is faithful.
When her husband supposedly dies in combat many men try to court her unsuccessfully. When German troops come into town she is accused of collaborating with them. She is then forced out of town when the Americans finally liberate the town.
Her husband thought to be dead returns to find his wife missing. He then goes off in search of her.
