On the positive side, the movie looks and sounds terrific. The story is interesting but the film ends up being more eye candy than anything else, due to Malena barely being developed as a character. The boy is good but the ending shows that Malena was the only one he cared for the rest of his life, and yet he barely spoke more than a sentence to her the entire time.
It all comes off a bit shallow. Still I found it fairly entertaining.
