Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Stephen G — 01 Dec 2010
Denzel Washington pulled off a great Malcolm X under Spike Lee's acclaimed directing. All around this movie did what it set out to do, tell the story (or at least a large part of it) of Malcolm X, pointing out key events, conflicts and figures he encountered in his life leading up to his assassination.
Although I'm a fan of the great activist, I felt that this movie lacked alot of dramatic intensity. It felt almost too simple, it needed some sprucing up with some good audio mixing here and there.
It had it's facts set straight, which is great, but it failed to bring real entertainment to the plate. The dialogue felt really plain and it just wasn't as gripping as it could have )and should have) been.
