Review of Major League II (1994) by David K — 12 Jun 2008
Of course "Major League II" isn't as good as its predecessor, but there is enough right in this film to consider it good. Is it a rehash? Yes. Does it feel old? No. The characters are still great and that makes this sequel work.
Bob Uecker is once again stellar as the Indians commentator. The inclusion of Randy Quaid as a soured spectator is something any sportsfan can relate to as he provides some of the biggest laughs of the film.
My main beef is that I wish the film was rated-R because I think a lot of the first one's charm has to do with its vulgar phrases. Nevertheless, "Major League II" isn't a bad sports film or sequel and it's definitiely worth seeing if you're a fan of the original.
