Review of Major League II (1994) by Anthony E — 07 Oct 2009
This movie was decent.
But the loss of Wesley Snipes (Willy Mays Hayes) to Omar Epps was a downgrade. Charlie Sheen (Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn), Corbin Bernsen (Roger Dorn) and Tom Bergener (Jake Taylor) reprise their rolls as the three main characters.
The Indians' rivals change from the New York Yankees to the Chicago White Sox. Roger Dorn buys the Indians from Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton), Taylor has retired and is now a coach for the Indians, and Vaughn is now a yuppie, as he lost his Wild Thing persona of the original Major League.
The new plot turns don't help this movie. Good for some laughs, but it just feels like an unnecessary extra inning.
