Review of Maid in Manhattan (2002) by Jennifer K — 01 Feb 2009

I usually enjoy a cheesy rom com, but this was totally dull. (It didn't help watching it on FX where they play commercials every 5 minutes!) I agree with the plot synopsis (above)...the plot is formulaic and brainless (think one long Three's Company episode), and the supporting cast outshine the stars.

JLo plays her usual driven working girl with class and sass (okay, I'll say it...and ass!), but this time there's just no spark. The cutest part of the movie wasn't a magical kiss or a heartfelt profession of love, it was the exchange between leading man and leading woman's almost-too-cute son when they both have paper clips in their hands!
