Review of Magnum Force (1973) by Alan T — 20 Feb 2008
Dirty Harry returns to take on a group of renegade cops acting as a death squad in San Fransico. Basically this is the filmmakers apology to everyone who felt "Dirty Harry" was fascist or promoting vigalntism.
Still a good film (I'd rank it 3rd of the 5 films after the orginal and "The Enforcer"), Clint Eastwood as badass cop is always great to watch, and Hal Holbrook does a good job as his blowhard superior.
The Death Squad actors (David Soul, Tim Matheson, Robert Urich and Kip Niven) do a decent job and are sufficently menacing... though no where near the level of Andy Robinsons Scorpio from the first. Still great as sequals go though.
