PT Anderson revisits LA in his own "Short Cuts" ensemble piece, but unlike Altman, spices it up with some stylized camera work and musical interludes (the entire cast singing along to Aimee Mann's "Wise Up" is a treat).
Basically, the running theme is lessons learned and forgiveness for past mistakes(either of others or self). Really love this film.
