Review of Magnolia (1999) by Tom B — 23 Feb 2011
Dare I use the word masterpiece?
A brilliant, long but entertaining from start to finish, movie journey. The cast is excellent, the intermingling stories compelling and it is character rich throughout. The start is simply ace and there are some memorable moments, mainly through Tom Cruise's super performance and the ending. The pace, tone an story is clever, dark, amusing and entertaining. There are some sad parts and some memorable moments, all of which provide it with the ingredients for a great movie. A must watch.
Plot - Two families suffer fathers riddled with cancer, as each of their individual lives is unravelled as a mess too.
