Review of Magnolia (1999) by Bronwen M — 26 Aug 2011
PTA's masterpiece that stands to be one of the most creative, heartwarming, and inspirational films ever to be made. It is a beautifully crafted mosaic of American life that captivates the viewer for its entire monumental length, which is completely appropriate despite what some people think. One cannot help to be mystified by its breathtaking audacity.
Magnolia is indeed that kind of film that stands above Forrest Gump, above Shawshank, above Schindler's List in rejuvenating one's spirit and self-motivation.
PTA is a true innovator in film, with both his ever-moving camerawork and brilliant writing. This should've taken home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. I loved every single minute of this film and could watch a thousand times and never get tired of it.
