Review of Magnolia (1999) by Adriano V — 04 Mar 2012
The best film of 1999. This movie proves to me that Paul Thomas Anderson is a master filmmaker. This movie, which tells several interlocking stories makes up an exhilarating 3 hours of pure entertainment.
Not a moment feels slow, not one part feels unnecessary, and there are many brilliant scenes in the film. And also, thanks to some outstanding editing, the films pacing is perfect, and the way we cut back so quickly between all of these interlocking stories feels exciting, and also disorienting.
