Review of Magnolia (1999) by Carrie F — 16 Jun 2012
Magnificent, beautiful and ornate. The way Anderson manages his intersecting stories is masterful, and this might be one of the most outstanding ensemble casts I've ever seen. Though something may be lost in its abandonment of lucidity, Magnolia compensates in the form of wonderfully shaded characters and powerful, challenging themes.
It may be three hours long, but nary a moment is wasted.
