Review of Magic in the Moonlight (2014) by Anna C — 31 Dec 2014
Quick Comments.
This is the first Woody Allen film I have seen and I didn't know much about his style of film making so I didn't know what to expect. I'm gonna start by talking about the good parts of the film. This is the first time I've seen Colin Firth act and he blew me away. Colin Firth is the anchor of this film and is the biggest reason to see this film. I'm not sure Emma Stone was right for this role and think her performance is spotty. That pains me to say because I am a big fan off hers. I have a question as well, why was Jacki Weaver in this film, she has hardly any lines. It seems like it was a waste of her talents. This movie is utterly predictable from the outset and because you know whats gonna happen it drags slightly. Like I said previously, Colin Firth is the reason to see this movie so If you like him see the movie if you don't then stay away.
