Despite the movie lagging at times, this is made up for by Ann-Margret's phenominal performance as Anthony Hopkins' high-school sweetheart. However Burgess Meredith's persona of Corky's sleazy agent Ben Greene (or Gangrene as Fats describes him) is right on the nose.
