Review of Maggie (2015) by Lovro H — 15 May 2015
This movie surprised me quite a lot. Firstly, seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger in a zombie drama was weird, but his performance is surprisingly great! He really delivers as a father of an infected daughter and his character is well written and even with that accent of his, he is still very serious and dramatic.
Secondly, this kind of a take on zombies can go either way. It can either be great, or it can be really bad. This one is great! The whole movie has a very depressing tone to it, and while it's not full of action, it's still very intense and can disturb you.
Last, but not the least, Abigail Breslin as the title character is brilliant. She is a great actress and her performance in this movie is right on! This movie you'll either love, or hate. I would recommend seeing it for, what I think is, Arnold's best performance and a very different take on the zombie genre, but those things can again be what is making some people not want to watch the movie.
So, it's your choice. But, this is all in all, a very well put movie with some illogical zombie infection after effects.
