Review of Made in Dagenham (2010) by John O — 22 Mar 2011
For me a very educational film about the previously unknown part of the British history. A vague mention oft he Equal Pay Act has been brought to life in my mind by Sally Hawkins in the role of a simple working class women who by a splot of circumstances grows to be a leader of the woman working movement. Despite the attempt to include all the possible hardships the Dagenham girls had to overcome, the fight for equal rights is all still presented as a quite easy and swift enterprise.
An enjoyable piece. Encourages to read about it's main characters.
