Review of Mad Max 2 (1981) by Brian P — 16 May 2014
I guess you would call this an apocalyptic western as a group of decent souled survivors are held up at a refinery surrounded by a group of marauders who aren't quite so good natured. The Marauders want the gasoline (to fuel their fleet of unusual looking souped up vehicles so they can keep marauding) and the survivors basically want to get out but are outnumbered and outgunned.
Then drives in mysterious loner Mad Max (Mel Gibson) and this stand-off takes a turn. There's also little dialogue but actually plenty of interesting characters, both good, bad and in between. The final scene or oil tanker chase is a film classic.
