Review of Mad Max (1979) by Patricio C — 20 May 2015
Its an odd film to review, because in so many ways it doesn't feel like a good film. It's cheap, its tone feels uneven, its plot os hard to follow (having a synopsis going in certainly helps, otherwise it'd be very hard to figure out), the score is over the top in parts, as is the acting.
Yet, it surprised me how enjoyable I found the whole film. Maybe it's the Australian-ness of the film, or the fact that it was shot in Melbourne that kept me more engaged, but I did feel I enjoyed the madness of the whole thing.
