Mad Max is the kick starter of the extraordinary career of Mel Gibson. I have seen it's sequel first, that film is twice better than this one. This Mad Max film didn't have much budget I believe because comparing to it's sequel, there are minimal stunts. This film version however compensates by providing off beat twists and plot elements. Although the post apocalyptic feel is not very effective as in the sequel which is a shame.
