Review of Mad Dog and Glory (1993) by Akil E — 29 May 2009
If I was old enough to see this movie in 1993, I would not have found it funny then. It was lacking in that they tried to play Robert DeNiro in a Bill Murray role, and who the heck is supposed to play the cop. Personally, I think this role makes DeNiro a better character in the 2008 movie "Rightous Kill.".
One thing that does work well is that the story flows seemlessly, but the dialogoue hoping to be darkly comedic, is really unfunny, unwitty and boring. Lonely cop landing "supposedly" I'm not a hooker, hooker was more or less dumb, not romantic in an insightful way.
