Review of Machete Kills (2013) by Wade H — 27 Feb 2014
James Bond meets Star Wars! Yes you read that correctly. Whereas the original Machete was the start of Danny Trejo in his staring roles as his iconic character and a generally entertaining action flick Machete Kills takes the series into greatness.
It does what XXX with Vin Diesel did the spy movies and redefines them not including XXX State of the Union. XXX gave us a whole new breed of a gang spy James Bond persona. Machete Kills take our character from the original and redefines him as a whole new breed of Mexican James Bond spy accompanied by some great and yes cartoonish henchmen and women the one and only Sofia Vergara whose bullets would certainly put out Pussy Galore's.
... well think you get the point. Villain wise can't go wrong with Mel Gibson and its definitely a great way for people to love him again. If you can't love him as the bad guy anymore might as well love him as the villain.
Also Machete Kills leave open for some more Mexican spy kick ass greatness with Machete Kills Again In Space!
