Review of MacGruber (2010) by Jai R — 24 Feb 2011
You'd pick this movie up off the shelf with the intention that it would be funny but stupid. Well it is. MacGruber really has the potential to be one of those movies where you like it, but you hate it at the same time.
Knowing it was gunna be dumb I wasn't surprised by the ridiculous dialogue and actions of the main character MacGruber. He was funny at times but honestly he was a jack-a$$ who seemed to lack any ethics or morals. The supporting roles seemed to outshine him in there performance.
The jokes were both good and bad, and unfortunately became infuriatingly repetitive. And make sure you have a remote handy because the 'sex' scenes in this will make your neighbors start wondering... so you'll probably wanna turn the volume down.
Some very interesting cameos in this one; with half of the WWE wrestling cast making a very short, but hilarious appearance. If only they'd stuck around...
If you're thinking this will be one of those funny-stupid movies like Austin Powers you will be disappointed. MacGruber reminds me of one of those crappy, non-funny mock movies such as "Vampires Suck". I'd only grab this one as a last resort!
