Review of Macbeth (2015) by Bradley J — 10 Apr 2016
Macbeth is a solid adaptation of the Shakespeare story. With gorgeous visuals and performances that amaze, technically the film is without many flaws. Unfortunately, as a fan of the Bard's, I believe his work is better left on the stage.
His words are dense and detailed and when actors have to make things more intimate onscreen, certain words don't come across and when anything is missed in Shakespeare, it can cause some problems.
Still, the craft on display may be enough for purists to enjoy, if not casual filmgoers. Rating: 61.
