Review of Macbeth (2015) by Jacob B — 15 Jan 2017
Everybody knows Shakespeare. His numerous plays are still relevant today and will be for years & centuries to come. "Macbeth" was my second plunge to his work (I have seen "Romeo & Juliet" before this).
The movie was very artful, with great scenery & cinematography and superb acting from Michael Fassbender & Marion Cotillard and of course, it's a great story. After such a great tribute to Shakespeare (the dialogue is in original old english) and such great moviemaking, it was sad that the same director and the same lead actors didn't manage to maintain the magic in their next collaberation: a movie based on a video game, "Assassin's Creed".
Then again, this was Shakespeare.
