Review of Macbeth (2015) by Donal B — 07 Oct 2015
Kurzel's Macbeth is visually beautiful. The cinematography is truly something to admire. But it felt lacking of something, not sure what. It was like it was missing a certain energy to it, at times the film wasn't really entertaining me that much.
Macbeth is a very dark tale, so I'd never expect it to have the energy and humour of something like Luhrman's Romeo & Juliet, but this take on Macbeth didn't really have any excitement and tension to it for me to care for it too much.
Michael Fassbender and Marion Coitillard's performances were incredible however, especially Coitilllard's as Lady Macbeth, she played the role's insanity really subtly.
