Review of M (1931) by Bharath P — 24 Jul 2008
The epitome of a timeless classic. But for the limitations on lighting, camera technology - things would change very little. The movie has the feel of a documentary to it. Almost no soundtrack, far as I can recall.
Peter Lorre's acting and emotional pitch at the end are really powerful. Though he is not physically imposing, the combination of neurochemiical desparation and unpredictabilit make you wince every time he is within reach of anoher human being on the screen.
