Review of M (1931) by Tom G — 24 Nov 2008
Who knew that they were making quasi-Altman mid-2000s-esque no-protagonist ensemble thrillers about societal breakdown back before blown-out backgrounds and handheld camera were even in vogue, huh? This movie is a giddy work of genius.
It's one of those pitchers that you can just go through ticking off all the dozens of people who've been shamelessly influenced by it.
