Review of M (1931) by Jacky L — 29 Nov 2008
Whistling a tune and a dark shadow hovering over a child has never been so sinister. A masterpiece film about a child murderer and the paranoia and high anxiety that ensues. Fritz Lang (director of another masterpiece Metropolis) gives a horrific view of murderer wrestling with his own demons (perfectly and hauntingly played by Peter Lorre) and the violent public justice awaiting him.
