Review of M (1931) by Mony V — 05 Dec 2008
I really liked this movie. It compares very favorably with today's movies and TV series about serial killers because it deals with moral questions that are not yet solved but that not many movies want to explore anymore.
The monster cannot help being a monster. The crimes committed by the criminals who judge him are not as serious as the monster's crimes, but they could have controlled their conduct while the monster couldn't.
Who is better? Should the monster be killed as the victims demand? Should he be handed to the doctors or the state? What if he re offends? These are all good questions. Instead, every night on TV there are like 10 episodes of series where very good looking people solve murders non stop.
Who cares!!!?????
